First up, “The Butcher of Scarlet Hollow.”

Epifania’s small town is plagued by murders.

Some people say it’s werewolves killing residents. Some people say someone is killing werewolves.

All Epifania knows is that she has to hang up her butcher’s apron and find out what’s going on, and the itinerant woodcutter just come to town is the only one who can’t be involved.

This story’s a little bit fairy tale, a little bit Scottish folklore, and there’s a Easter egg for those with sharp eyes. It’s yours free when you sign up for Laura’s release and news list. No spam, and we’ll never share your info.

Bonus: there will be two more free stories coming to you as well!

Why would you want to trust this author with your email? Good question!

1) Because we won’t abuse it. You’ll receive a newsletter every month or so. (That’s not an exact figure, but it’s an average.) And it will only be for some sort of actual news, not just to nag you.

2) Because the newsletter will contain stuff that’s interesting: intriguing snippets of history and folklore, sneak peeks on work in progress, promotional pricing and giveaways for my books and others, info on new releases, recommended reading in your favorite genres, and secret links to free stories.

3) Because newsletter subscribers typically get the best deals. When So To Honor Him came out, for example, subscribers got access before anyone else and a special pay-what-you-want pricing offer to raise funds for charity.

4) Because we’ll be respectful and not spam you. Like we said in #1, just repeated for emphasis. See the privacy policy to be super-clear.
