Just a quick update!
I’ve just returned from the RealmMakers conference and awards banquet. Of the five short story finalists, two were mine! They were “Neon Green in D Minor,” a cyberpunk retelling of the Pied Piper fairy tale, and “Love My Neighbor,” a contemporary fantasy.
And “Love My Neighbor” won Best Short Story!
Michele Israel Harper, who was my editor for that anthology, was with me at the awards banquet and we were able to celebrate together.
This was a juried contest rather than a popular vote. Nonetheless, thank you to all the readers who supported these stories!
“Love My Neighbor” first appeared in Gilded Glass, from WordFire Press in 2022. “Neon Green in D Minor” first appeared in Trenchcoats, Towers, and Trolls: Cyberpunk Fairy Tales from World Weaver Press, edited by Rhonda Parrish. You can now also buy each story as a standalone here.
Congrats on the win for “Love My Neighbor”! I it and “Neon Green in D Minor,” from your website! :-)
Thank you, Terry! You’re awesome. :D
